High-tech tools in real estate mean buyers get information instantly!

Gone are the days of putting up a sign, taking a few pictures and running some ads when a property is listed. The real estate industry is leading the way in getting information about properties almost instantly to potential buyers. Here are some of the latest tools:

QR Codes: Working on the same concept as bar codes, QR codes are designed for Smartphones like Blackberrys, iPhones and Androids. Users download a free application onto their phone, scan a code and they’re instantly taken to a website. We use QR Codes on all of our listings, a passerby can scan the code on our For Sale sign and instantly access that listing on our mobile website.

Facebook and Twitter: Getting the word out about a listing is instant with social media. And if somebody likes what they read or see, they can instantly pass it along to their friends.

Video tours:
If a picture is worth 1,000 words, then a good video is worth 1,000 pictures. You’ll find some realtors are using High Definition video now to show their listings. It’s almost like being there yourself!

MLS on the Internet: If you have a computer and an Internet connection, visit www.Realtor.ca to get information about properties listed on the MLS. Now there’s an app for Smartphones that takes you to Realtor.ca too.
